Good Day! Alison here to talk about spicing up your shoes for all occassions with what other than, Vintage clip-on earrings. Vintage earrings (in my opinion), are so much more stunning, unique and more fun than modern pierced earrings. Plus, you can get multiple uses from "clip-on" earrings other than just dangling from your lobes. Such as, placing the clip on earring on a choker or chain as a pendant, in your hair (clipped on a bobby pin), as a ring and of course on shoes.
Yes, clip on earring can be uncomfortable to wear on your lobes. However, if you are crafty, you can simply remove the clip on and hot glue the earring to a ring band (found at local craft stores) or on your shoes permanently. I do receive many requests from customers for pierced earrings. Perhaps, in the near future I will learn how to transform my lovely collection of Vintage earrings to pierced, upon special requests. I cannot promise anything, but if I can perfect the transformation, I will let you know.
Back to dressing up your shoes. I am sharing some pictures with a few earrings from my collection on my own personal modern shoes. I also found some creative examples from other individuals on how they embellished their shoes for weddings, proms, etc.
You can instantly transform almost any pair of shoes with some creativity! Whether you are a diva or just want to spice things up, vintage earrings are the ideal fashion accessory! Clip on earrings work best on shoes. Screw backs are a little more challenging as they may hurt your precious feet. Though, you can remove the screw back and hot glue it to your shoes. Personally, I do not find the back of the clip on earrings irritating to my feet. However, you can easily apply those corn pads from Dr. Scholl's on the backside of the clip for less irritation.
If you'd like to bring in your shoes to find the perfect vintage earrings, more power to you! Some of the earrings I chose to shoot below, I have also placed on ribbon chokers (we sell) to show different uses. Lots of pictures because I can easily get carried away...
Enjoy!
Here's a pair of my own brown suede peep toe Steve Maddens as purchased.
I applied a pair of Cathe, rather huge, vintage clip-ons. Transforms the look, eh?
Same pair of earrings show on the shoes above...look how beautiful they are! Blister faux pearls with Aurora Borealis stones. Aurora Borealis refers to rhinestones that have a special iridescent finish that shines with many colors.
Shown here on a gray-blue ribbon choker. Stunning!
Pair of Topaz & Citrine gem clip ons.
Pair of faux pearl and Austrian crystal earrings.
Another pair of goldtone faux pearl earrings.
(Sorry blurry picture) Huge pair of topaz & citrine stones with a marbled stone center.
Aww, much better picture....close up of earrings shown previously.
Now shown on a double ribbon strand choker. So sweet looking.
Another pair of huge clip on earrings with light peach-pink stones and Aurora Borealis stones. Yes, I am getting carried away showing so many! See how these original casual shoes can be glammed up with simple vintage accessories.
Mix of Aurora Borealis topaz and yellow rhinestone earrings.
Another pair of Aurora Borealis topaz beaded earrings.
Gold speckled faux pearl earrings.
Ok, onto the next pair of my new shoes - open toed black patent leather....
Awesome pair of dangle Austrian crystal earrings.
Smokey gray Aurora Borealis crystal earrings.
Very large blue seeded pearl earring (I have the pair) with swirled center, clipped onto ribbon choker.
Ok, now onto other ideas I found via the web....
In this picture, the individual glued feathers and vintage earrings to her heels.

Great content and it's so helpful for me. But it's so weird that your blog is in a mess through my explorer. Is that my explorer problem? But it's pretty normal when exploring other blogs.

I just read about this in the paper! It contains wonderful and helpful posts. How I wish I'd known about this blog before. I would have loved to have worked on this project! What a great accomplishment. Beautiful. Congratulations to you.
